FanDuel announced Wednesday it has added Keith Whyte as a “responsible gaming strategic advisor.”
Whyte, a long-time presence in the gaming industry, has more than 30 years of experience in the responsible gambling and problem gambling prevention ecosphere for online casino gaming and mobile sports betting. He spent 25 years as the executive director of the National Council on Problem Gaming (NCPG), an organization dedicated to promoting problem gambling awareness as well as support for individuals experiencing gambling harm.
“We are honored to have Keith Whyte join our team as a strategic advisor for our responsible gaming programming,” said FanDuel Senior Vice President of Public Policy & Sustainability Cory Fox in a statement. “At FanDuel, we are committed to elevating the industry standard for Responsible Gaming. We’re excited to welcome Keith to our Responsible Gaming team and are confident his experience and subject matter knowledge will further strengthen our leadership in this space.”
Where Whyte will be
Whyte’s addition to FanDuel comes as the industry uses September to promote responsible gaming education. It is one of the busiest months on the sports betting calendar in the United States in volume and handle as Major League Baseball, NFL, and college football schedules all converge.
“FanDuel has consistently demonstrated industry leading commitment to Responsible Gaming, and I’ve long admired their proactive approach,” Whyte said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to join the team and contribute my experience to further advancing FanDuel’s efforts in promoting safe and responsible play.”
Whyte will be a consultant and provide content for FanDuel’s Trusted Voices: Conversations About Sports Betting program. FanDuel started Trusted Voices last year in partnership with EPIC Global Solutions to “equip trusted adults, including parents, guardians, and coaches, with tools and resources to talk to young people about gambling, associated risks, how to recognize warning signs, and where to go for support.”
