DraftKings Launches DK Replay, A Historical Baseball Product
Only available in Oregon currently, game uses past batter-pitcher matchups in its gameplay

With the Major League Baseball season getting ready for its first pitch Wednesday night, DraftKings has stepped up the plate with a new baseball offering: DK Replay.
Currently available only in Oregon, the new product is a historical betting game where players can bet — on a pitch-by-pitch basis — on a library of hundreds of thousands of past plate appearances.
The mechanism bears some resemblance to historical horse racing (HHR) or to the recently introduced Hard Rock Bet game in Florida that uses historical NASCAR results.
The game was approved for launch by the Oregon Lottery, and customers 21 and over who wish to try it out can download the latest version of the DraftKings sportsbook app.
“DK Replay offers a new experience for our customers, allowing them to tap into the excitement of pitch-by-pitch betting in a unique historical environment,” said Corey Gottlieb, DraftKings’ chief product officer. “With DK Replay, we’re able to offer an experience that will allow customers to enjoy their favorite sports no matter the time of year.”
Batter up
Per the press release announcing the new offering, DK Replay works like this:
- After launching the offering in the DraftKings Sportsbook mobile app, customers will be presented with an anonymized pitcher versus batter matchup.
- These players will be rated either bronze, silver, or gold based on key stats from the original game, such as batting average, slugging percentage, ERA, and strikeouts per nine innings, so that customers can analyze the matchup.
- Customers are able to place a wager within the pitch clock on whether the next pitch will be a ball, strike, or in-play.
- Once the bet is placed, the actual outcome of the pitch will be revealed, and the bet will be graded. Following the conclusion of the full plate appearance, or if the customer doesn’t bet on subsequent pitches due to the pitch clock getting to zero, the full original details of the matchup will be revealed, including the pitcher, batter, and original game information. Customers will then have the option to bet on a new matchup.
DraftKings said it plans to roll out DK Replay in other states pending regulatory approval.
