BetRivers became the fourth operator in Michigan history to generate $20 million in monthly online casino revenue as the state’s Gaming Control Board reported $259.1 million in gross operator winnings for September Monday.
The Rush Street Interactive skin joined FanDuel, BetMGM, and DraftKings in reaching the revenue benchmark. BetRivers has set monthly gross revenue records for five months running, and September’s total represented a 62.6% year-over-year increase. With $160.2 million in revenue through the first nine months of 2025, BetRivers has also surpassed its full-year 2024 total of $156.4 million.
The overall figure from the 14 online skins in the Wolverine State was up 27.9% from last year, with gross revenue clearing $250 million for the third straight month and fifth time overall. The state levied taxes on $243.4 million in adjusted revenue, re-directing $50.8 million into its coffers. The city of Detroit generated $13 million in receipts, and tribal disbursements neared $6.1 million.
FanDuel tops for fourth straight month
Though none of the three Detroit-based online casino skins set monthly all-time highs, FanDuel and Penn National each had their second-best months since launch in January 2021.
FanDuel Casino held the top revenue spot once more at $69.8 million, a jump of 42.8% from last year. Its four-month run atop the revenue leaderboard is its longest since overtaking BetMGM for the first time in March 2024. The challenge for FanDuel is maintaining what has been an impressive growth trajectory in Michigan over the past two years.
Its $592.4 million in year-to-date revenue is up 34.5% compared to the first nine months of 2024, but last October marked the first time FanDuel surpassed $50 million in monthly revenue at $56.2 million. It has crossed $60 million in gross winnings for 10 consecutive months.
BetMGM also extended its streak of months with $60 million in revenue to 10, landing at $65.9 million. That was up 23.4% from last year, and year-to-date winnings have climbed 26.9% versus 2024. The two marketplace leaders are separated by $9.6 million in 2025 revenue heading into the final quarter.
Though at a lesser scale via Greektown Casino, Penn is enjoying a solid 2025 in Michigan. The $7.7 million in winnings ranks behind only its $8.4 million accrued in July, and the $63.6 million in year-to-date revenue has eclipsed its $57.7 million haul for all of 2024.
The combined $143.3 million in gross iGaming revenue from Detroit is the third-highest in state history and represented a 34.5% year-over-year increase.
Fanatics also making mid-tier waves
While BetRivers has settled into the No. 4 spot for revenue, Fanatics Casino is trying to muscle Caesars Palace Online out of fifth. It shrank the gap between the two to $639,864 in September as Fanatics crested $14 million for the first time. Like BetRivers, it was the fifth straight month of record revenue, a run that started in May when Fanatics reached eight figures for the first time.
Fanatics’ revenue more than doubled from last September, and the $14.1 million claimed is up 81% from January. It is on pace to generate more than 2.5 times the $52.6 million rung up in 2024 when including figures from predecessor PointsBet from the first seven-plus weeks of last year.
Caesars posted year-over-year growth of 13.6% in maintaining the fifth spot, but September’s number was a far cry from its record $17.7 million posting in July. That was its only month above $15 million in the last four after topping that benchmark from December through May.
DraftKings, meanwhile, continues to quietly hum along in third. It edged over $40 million for the third straight month, reporting year-over-year gains of 5.6%. Its year-over-year growth is at 6.1%, still dragged down somewhat by a rough February that included a $9.28 million payout on a progressive slot.
