BetMGM and Inspired Entertainment have announced the launch of MGM Bonus City in Michigan. The game is now exclusively available on BetMGM Casino in two states after debuting in New Jersey in October 2023.

“MGM Bonus City is a superb addition to BetMGM Casino, and we’re excited to continue the rollout across states we are live in as regulations allow,” said Oliver Bartlett, VP of gaming product and content at BetMGM, in a press release.

The game features a wheel with eight potential outcomes. Among these, four MGM property-themed (New York-New York, Luxor, MGM Grand, and Bellagio) bonus rounds transport players to Las Vegas. It awards random multipliers before the host spins the wheel, offering the potential for boosted winnings.

      A ‘hybrid dealer’ game

MGM Bonus City is a Hybrid Dealer® game created by casino game provider Inspired Entertainment. Hybrid Dealer® games are similar to live dealer games, except they combine pre-recorded footage of a real dealer with results determined by Random Number Generator (RNG) technology. They utilize Virtual CGI and green screen technology to replicate the experience of playing with a dealer in a land-based casino.

“We are thrilled to introduce MGM Bonus City in Michigan, enhancing our partnership with BetMGM,” said Brooks Pierce, president and CEO of Inspired. “This game embodies the fusion of cutting-edge technology, engaging gameplay, and robust branding opportunities, setting a new standard for the iGaming experience. By integrating live dealer elements with dynamic virtual environments, we create a truly unique gaming experience.”

      iGaming revenue continues to climb

Since its launch in 2021, Michigan’s iGaming industry has shown consistent growth, with revenue increasing each year. According to the latest data from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), iGaming collected $183.2 million in gross receipts in June 2024, taking the online gaming segment total to $1.16 billion for the first half of 2024.

The BetMGM online casino platform is licensed and available in three other states in addition to Michigan: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Across all of the platforms, the casino offers more than 2,800 titles. Its New Jersey site is currently home to the largest ever progressive jackpot pool in the United States, worth over $5.2 million.

Last year, BetMGM was named Casino Operator of the Year by SBC North America, EGR North America, American Gambling Awards, and Global Gaming Awards.
