One DraftKings online casino player in Michigan turned a 20-cent spin on Irish Pot Luck into a record-breaking jackpot win on Wednesday.

The unnamed player won an eye-popping $9.28 million by hitting the company’s progressive jackpot. This is the largest online casino jackpot score in American regulated iGaming history.

The jackpot started at an even $1 million in February 2024, and has been growing ever since.

According to DraftKings, the odds to win this jackpot were 10 million to 1.

“It’s been exciting to watch this historic jackpot climb to a record-breaking $9.28 million, giving a DraftKings Casino customer in Michigan an incredible, life-changing experience while engaging with our product,” Jason March, the vice president of iGaming marketing and operations at DraftKings, said in a press release. “To be able to award the largest online casino jackpot in U.S. history is an amazing testament to the DraftKings Casino team who work tirelessly to deliver customers a best-in-class experience. Congratulations to the winner, we look forward to celebrating our next big jackpot win.”

      Numerous jackpots

This jackpot was part of DraftKings Casino’s in-house “single level progressive jackpot” offering. This allows players the opportunity to opt-in and make an additional wager on dozens of jackpot-eligible games, from typical slots to blackjack.

DraftKings has paid out over $150 million in jackpot winnings and has created more than 50 millionaires since launching the jackpot program.

There are numerous jackpots available at any given time at DraftKings Casino, including multi-level progressive jackpots — where the odds range from 30,000-to-1 all the way up to 17-million-to-1 — as well as daily “must win” jackpots that start in the hundreds of dollars.

The previous high-water mark for an online casino win in the United States was a $6.45 million haul for a New Jersey player at BetMGM. That player wagered $200 on a spin of Fruit Blaster and won the progressive jackpot.
