Betr Arcade, Part Of Jake Paul-Fronted Gambling App, Launches In 29 States

Betr has launched a real-money, peer-to-peer, skill-based game called Betr Arcade inside its Betr Picks daily fantasy sports app.

Company CEO Joey Levy made the announcement on multiple social media platforms Wednesday, featuring a video of co-founder and boxer/YouTube influencer Jake Paul playing a game called 21.

On Thursday, Betr Arcade featured four games: 21, Fruit Match, Crossout 21, and 5 Across.

The games feature a minimum bet of $1.25 and allow players to practice before entering real-money contests against other players. Betr Arcade is live in 29 states after an official launch on Sept. 2.

“We’ve started with four game titles, and we plan on launching a couple of additional titles over the next couple weeks here and ultimately plan on launching dozens of additional titles over the coming months and years,” Levy told Casino Reports. “We’re really excited about our entrance into the skill games vertical. We think that just fun peer-to-peer mobile games will give our hundreds of thousands of customers just a lot of additional content to engage with and entertain themselves with in the Betr app.”

Betr also announced enhancements to its Picks daily fantasy sports app, which integrates Arcade. The Picks app has added the WNBA and new global soccer leagues and what it describes as an “industry-first” 10,000X payout multiplier.

Betr Arcade works where online casinos aren’t legal

Actual online casino play is legal in just seven states. Betr Arcade will attempt to fill a void most everywhere else. The company has not yet named the 29 states where Arcade is available, but its website lists 32 U.S. jurisdictions where Betr Picks is active. Fifteen of those are peer-to-peer only to comply with state laws.

Among the active Betr Picks states are California, Florida, and Texas. In California, fantasy sports operators have pivoted away from the so-called “pick ’em,” against-the-house contests that have become a point of focus for Attorney General Rob Bonta. Native tribes in California own the right to offer casino-style gambling, but online play has not been legalized.

The Betr Picks and Arcade are also available in Florida, where the Seminole Tribe has a virtual monopoly on gambling and online casino play has not been legalized. The Betr Picks peer-to-peer version was launched there after the Florida Gaming Control Commission issued cease-and-desist orders to Betr, PrizePicks, and Underdog Fantasy in February 2024 to stop offering “pick ’em” games.

Commercial gambling is not legal in Texas.

Betr Sportsbook operates in Ohio and Virginia.
