The popularity of regulated iGaming in Michigan shows no signs of abating, as May figures reported Tuesday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board revealed gross receipts for the state’s 15 online casinos adding up to $305.8 million — the third consecutive month that number surpassed $300 million. Prior to 2026, the $300 million mark had only been topped once, in December 2025.

Total gross receipts were up 21.6% over May 2025. Total adjusted gross receipts (accounting for spending on promotions and bonuses) came in at $293.4 million last month, up 24.2% year-over-year. And taxes paid to the state from iGaming wins were $61.5 million this May, an increase of 25.2%. This was also the third month in a row that state taxes exceeded $60 million.

And here’s a stark comparison: Whereas online casino produced $61.5 million in taxes and fees for the state, online sports betting for the month generated a mere $2.7 million.

March 2026 remains the record holder in Michigan for gross receipts ($322.1 million), AGR ($309.1 million), and state taxes ($64.1 million).

Year-to-date, total gross receipts from online casino stand at $1.503 billion, which puts it on pace for $3.606 billion at year’s end. In 2025, total gross receipts for the full year were $3.087 billion.

Growing gaps between top operators

The standard Michigan top-three running order of FanDuel Casino, then BetMGM Casino, then DraftKings Casino remained intact in May, though FanDuel widened its lead compared to April, when it topped BetMGM by only $5.2 in gross receipts. This time, FanDuel led the way with $77.4 million, BetMGM sat at $64.3 million, and DraftKings trailed far behind at $39.9 million.

The order remained the same for the fairly tightly bunched next four as well, each increasing its revenue slightly over April. BetRivers scored $24 million in gross receipts, followed by Hard Rock Bet with $21.1 million, Fanatics Casino with $20.4 million, and Caesars with $17.2 million.

The biggest story, however, is bet365 Casino, which on April 17 took over the license previously held by PokerStars Casino and immediately began generating more business. With April split almost down the middle between operation by PokerStars and bet365, the revenue for the month totaled $3.7 million. In May, the first full month of bet365 Casino in Michigan, the tally tripled to $11.1 million.

Meanwhile, Golden Nugget suffered a significant drop-off in May, going from a $10.6 million haul in April to just $6 million, its lowest figure so far this year. Hollywood Casino ranked slightly ahead of GN in May, with $7.4 million in revenue.

The state’s other five iCasino operators all came in below $5 million in gross receipts.
