The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) announced this week it is seeking proposals to develop a comprehensive certification program aimed at strengthening responsible gaming standards across the industry.

The program will establish a framework covering corporate policies, self-exclusion protocols, employee training, and other key areas of responsible gambling. This initiative follows ROGA’s November 2024 announcement seeking a technology provider for its data clearinghouse project.

“This step marks a significant milestone in our mission to build an organization that provides valuable resources to promote responsible gaming,” said ROGA Executive Director Dr. Jennifer Shatley. “I’m excited by the release of this RFP as it demonstrates our commitment to offer operators in this growing industry a program that assesses policies and responsible gaming support mechanisms, exclusion protocols, marketing and advertising guidelines, employee training, and other data-driven strategies in our efforts to provide consumers with entertaining gaming experiences.”

The certification process is designed to validate operators’ existing responsible gambling practices while fostering continuous improvement in how RG is integrated into the player experience.

NEW RFP: The Responsible Online Gaming Association is seeking a partner to establish a #ResponsibleGaming certification for operators.

This program will highlight existing innovative and proactive programs and support further advancement in the space.

The certification program represents ROGA’s latest effort to promote evidence-based best practices for responsible gaming across the online gambling industry.

ROGA has committed more than $20 million to responsible gambling initiatives. The association focuses on educating and empowering consumers to make informed gaming decisions through several key programs.
