Matt Morrow, better known in the gambling world by his slots influencer monicker “Vegas Matt,” has been banned from playing at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, according to a report and according to Morrow himself.

Scott Roeben, the Vegas-based journalist behind the Vital Vegas blog and social media accounts, broke the story in a tweet Tuesday evening, noting a “rumor” that the property ban was related to advantage play by Morrow.

Morrow promptly quote-retweeted Roeben’s post and confirmed the report, writing that “Security escorted me off property a few days after we won $400k” but insisting that no advantage play (which is legal, but does often lead casinos to remove patrons) took place.

Morrow then posted a link to what he claims is the slot session that got him banned, which shows him playing for as much as $2,500 per spin and hitting for over $400,000 on one of those spins. The video is from nine months ago, which suggests his alleged ban was handed down toward the end of 2025 and is just now coming to light.

He pointed out specifically in his tweet that he left the machine in a more advantageous state than he found it.

Morrow also posted a link to a slot session at Fontainebleau during which he hit a $202,000 jackpot on a General Tso Phoenix Link machine, shown in a video uploaded to YouTube earlier in the day Tuesday. He shared that video to make the point that he’s taken his business elsewhere in Las Vegas.

The Venetian did not respond promptly to Casino Reports’ request for comment on Wednesday morning. In fairness to the casino, this article was being published early in the morning Las Vegas time. It will be updated if Venetian representatives provide comment.

Gondola, gondola, gone

Morrow has 1.64 million YouTube subscribers and is a brand ambassador for FanDuel Casino, among other partnerships and sponsorships. Early this year, FanDuel produced a documentary series on Morrow titled All In: Vegas Matt, telling the story of how Morrow became a slots influencer in his late 50s and taking viewers behind the scenes of both his work life and his family life (which often overlap, since his son EJ largely runs the operation).

Social media reaction Tuesday night and Wednesday morning was mostly supportive of Morrow and critical of The Venetian — although that’s a skewed sample predominantly made up of Vegas Matt fans.

The casino has also been in the news of late for getting slapped with a $7.2 million fine by the Nevada Gaming Commission last Thursday. That fine was for anti-money laundering violations detailed this month in Casino Reports’ “Compliance Confidential” series.

It is not uncommon for casinos to ban “slot vultures” who roam the gaming floor looking for persistence machines that are in states of positive expected value — but whether Morrow’s behavior fit that description at any point is unclear.
