Pennsylvania iGaming AGR Totals $233M For September, Second Most Ever

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported $233.4 million in adjusted gross online casino revenue for September, the second-highest total in state history.

The number trails only the $238.2 million claimed by operators in March, and it was the fourth time taxable revenue eclipsed $230 million. Adjusted revenue soared 32.1% compared to last year, while the $284.4 million in gross winnings was up 26.3%.

Overall operator revenue in the Keystone State from all forms of gaming — brick-and-mortar casinos, iGaming, sports wagering, video gaming terminals (VGTs), and fantasy sports — totaled $535.8 million in September, up 5.9% from last year.

The state’s cut of taxes from online casino winnings totaled $68.9 million, and Pennsylvania coffers saw an inflow of $204.5 million for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2026. That is up $50.5 million compared to last year.

Slots as iGaming growth driver

The strong boost in adjusted revenue can be traced to online slots, which produced a record haul of $181.1 million. The 37.1% rise in winnings easily outpaced the 24.7% increase in drop to $4.54 billion.

That amount wagered was also 4.9% lower than the record $4.78 billion from March when the previous slot revenue standard was set at $179.5 million. Gross slot winnings totaled $234.4 million, a 28.3% year-over-year increase.

Penn National, which includes DraftKings and BetMGM Casino under its umbrella, set all-time monthly highs for slot drop ($1.73 billion) and gross slot revenue ($86.4 million). Its $64.9 million in taxable winnings came up just shy of its state-record $65.1 million reported in May and was up 37.4% from a year ago.

Table games revenue growth was solid, albeit lighter at 15.2% to $22.2 million. The combined $87.7 million represented year-over-year growth of 31%. Penn has to average slightly less than $80 million AGR each of the final three months to reach $1 billion in calendar year winnings.

FanDuel Casino surpassed $50 million in taxable slot revenue in back-to-back months for the first time, reaching $50.6 million in September. That was up 50.2% from last year, which was also the last time FanDuel failed to attain at least $35 million in slot AGR.

The $417.4 million in taxable slot winnings has eclipsed FanDuel’s full-year 2024 total of $383.6 million. The $66.4 million in winnings when adding table games represented a 40.8% year-over-year increase.

BetRivers remains on an island for the final podium spot among Pennsylvania iGaming operators. The $35.4 million in revenue was up 12.4% from September 2024, with table games showing more steam than slots. Virtual felt winnings increased 21.1% to $4 million, while taxable slot win climbed 10.3% to $10.5 million.

Caesars Palace Online was the only other operator to reach eight figures in September at $10.9 million thanks to a 50% spike in slot revenue to $8.5 million. That canceled out the 19.9% downturn in table games winnings that were below $2 million.
